07. Filters: General filters
Users can specify certain parameters of a request, and if it meets the conditions, predefined actions are taken for the request. In Dealing Desk, conditions are set via Filters. There are several types of filtering settings for rules:
- TimeWith this filter specified, the rule’s active time will be limited by a start date and time and/or end date and time.
- Request typesUsers can choose from the types of requests for which the rule will be applied.Non-trading request types do not result in an actual trading operation by MT design, so they can not be delayed and given slippage.Trading request types:

- Entry typesThe Entry type filter can be specified to apply the rule only to Entry market requests (In), Exit market requests (Out). Requests leading to position direction reversal - In/Out in MT5 - are processed by rules having In, Out or both filters selected.
- ReasonsThe request source filter. Dealing Desk can process requests from the following sources:
- ClientTrading requests sent by traders manually from MT Terminal (including mobile versions).
- SignalTrading requests sent from MT Terminal because of a trading signal received.
- ExpertTrading requests generated by an Expert Advisor.
Please note that there is no Manager reason in the list. Dealing Desk ignores trading requests sent from the MT Manager application. - DirectionsIf applicable (to the chosen request types), conditions can be filtered by the direction of outgoing trade requests:
- Buy
- Sell
